Go Go, Go, Gogo

Write Go, play Go and Gogo dance!

What

Go Go, Go, Gogo (aka 5×Go aka Goの五倍 (read as: go no go bye)) is a getaway/retreat in mid-2024. The plan of the getaway is for a group of software developers to go somewhere quiet, write some Go code, play some Go, and maybe dance a little.

Every night, we present our work to each other, unwind by playing Go or dancing like babies.

Who is this for?

Go Seigen

You don't have to be this guy to join us!

This retreat is for Go developers, preferably someone with a project in mind. If you do not have a project, we can find you a group to join and contribute code.

You must already be proficient in writing Go code. If you do not know how to play Go, we can teach you how to play Go. If you do not know how to do a gogo dance, we can learn together.

Who is running this?

The main people running this are the main organizers for GopherConAU, primarily Chewxy. He really really just needs a break, and would like to do it around people who are smarter than him.

Why

Get together with a group of Go experts (both the programming language and the game). Get mentorship. Cross polinate ideas amongst experts. Enhance your problem solving skills. Learn work-life balance.

How Much Will It Cost?

We don't know yet. It all depends on the number of people that will actually show up. However, initial calculations will be roughly $1000 per person for 5 nights and 6 days, which would include accomodation and food.
